I am convinced...God is quite passionate about interior design...in studying for the meaning of this piece, I looked up the meaning of blue, sapphire blue. A scripture appeared speaking of Mose and seventy elders’ experience on Mnt Sinai.
-And they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the heavens in clearness. (Exodus 24:10 HBFV)
It blew me away (no pun intended). God cares so much about those details. It reminded me of downtown Puerto Rico, and the blue cobblestone roads. I loved those roads, why is our society so boring in using the cheapest pavement we can afford? Concrete sidewalks! I admired Puerto Rico’s craftsmanship. But reading these scriptures made me realize, God cares about those details, we cannot begin to fathom His beauty, His works, His heart, His excellence.
Other scriptures spoke about how sapphire is found on breastplate of justice (Exodus 28:18). And that God personally adorned it on Lucifer when He created him (Ezekiel 28:13) in Revelation 21:19 the scripture speaks of how sapphire will be used as one of the twelve foundations of the new Jerusalem.
What an amazing God we serve. Everything He does, He puts thought into, there is value in all aspects of what He creates, how and why. It is my belief that we have no idea what we are missing out on, how great the yearning in our hearts truly is for His presence, excellence His ways truly are. We live in a state of depletion every day we are away from Him. Our hearts are refilled daily by spending time in His presence, but there is no doubt, this world is in a constant state of lack and it cries out for Him.
I can’t imagine how Adam and Eve must have felt when they were cast out of the garden, pushed away from the place they once walked with God daily. We have no idea what we are missing out on. Those who have experienced heaven and come back, wished they could have stayed there. They explain colors we know nothing about. God uses our highest value of stones and metals as flooring for His feet, paving the streets with gold, pavements of sapphire, and His footstool is the world.
This painting, to me represents transformation, change, growth, and the blue represents Gods ways, far beyond our ways. A masterpiece to Him...is far beyond what any humanly art could ever render. You are that masterpiece. You are that work of art created by the very hand of our Holy God. He makes no mistakes, He is masterful in all He does, and you are that work that He prizes far beyond pavers, far beyond roads, and walkways. You’re His child, you’re His beloved. In all your imperfections He said...
“I will make a way for you to receive Holiness...I will send my own Son, the perfect spotless lamb, to pay the ultimate price for your sins. That you may be near me, bearing the righteousness of my son, as it was always meant to be before sin entered this world. Until the day I bring you home, I will continually and consistently do a work in you that brings about life, truth, justice, holiness, growth, transformation, beauty, light and love. Just as this butterfly, the change will come about through a refining pressure...it may be uncomfortable, as the world you live in fights against you in your change, the flesh you once operated in, resists the new things I am doing in you, but one thing is for sure...stay before me, abide in my ways, stay on the potters wheel, and I will see you through. I am the Lord your God, well and able to create the masterpiece in you that I destined since before you were born.”
I pray this piece blesses you, and reminds you to rest in Him, as you are in the Makers hands. He will not fail to amaze you. He will not quit, tire or hesitate to do what He said He would. 💙 He loves you.
