"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judæa in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him." - Matthew 2:1-2 KJV
In creating 'Star of Bethlehem,' I sought to weave together the miraculous birth of Jesus and the profound destiny that awaited Him. As I painted Mary holding her precious son, I felt the immense love and the weight of the journey they both would endure. Above them, I placed the Star of Bethlehem, deliberately shaped as a cross, to symbolize the connection between Jesus' arrival and His ultimate sacrifice for us all.
This piece is my interpretation of prophecy fulfilled – the star that once guided wise men to a newborn king now illuminates the path of His future, His purpose predestined. It's a visual narrative that intertwines the joy of His arrival with the solemnity of His purpose.
Through 'Star of Bethlehem,' I hope to convey the message of God's love, the sacrifice of Christ, and the eternal hope He brings. It is a visual journey through the prophecy of Jesus' life – a story of divine love and redemption written in the stars.
Just as the star led the wise men to discover Jesus, may this piece also serve as a guiding light for us, leading us toward a deeper understanding and relationship with Him. Just as the wise men followed the star with faith, may we too be guided by the light of Christ in our lives, leading us to greater faith, hope, and love.
As this piece finds a place in your home, let it remind you of our collective journey in seeking and finding Christ's light. May it inspire reflection, conversation, and a deeper appreciation of the story of salvation. Let it be an invitation to witness the beauty of faith and the miraculous power of a promise fulfilled.
