Each of us walks a unique journey through life... our own story being written as our destinies unfold before us. It’s important not to compare ourselves to others but to embrace and fully own our present. Life is a gift, and reaching another year is a tremendous blessing. I thank God for the life He has given me, and I pray that all He has deposited in me over these 40 years will serve as a strong foundation for the years to come.

In our culture, it’s easy to feel discouraged about aging, as if growing older is something to be ashamed of. But I believe this is a deception... the enemy twisting what should be a joy into something we fear. Life is like a fine wine; with time, it only becomes more valuable. What could compare to the wisdom gained from years of experience? These are things worth thanking God for.

We are not promised tomorrow. Each day is a gift. No one knows the time or hour when we will meet our Almighty and Glorious Creator. That’s why we must live each day with purpose... fully surrendered to the Lord. Our hope and goal are that when we stand before Him, we will have lived a life that brought joy to His heart. That in response to the incredible gift of salvation He gave us on the cross, we, in turn, would offer our lives back to Him. That in this short and adventurous life, we laid it all down, praying that our offering would be worthy of the call.

On this 40th birthday of mine, I want to take time to thank God for life, reflect on all He has done, and seek His voice for what the next 40 years may hold...God willing. But I do so with great expectation! The enemy has no say in how I celebrate this gift of life. Instead, I wholeheartedly commit what remains of my time to the Lord with even more passion than before.

I leave you with this: No matter your age, if you have breath in your lungs, God has a great plan for your life. While there is still time, I pray you find the rhythm of the Holy Spirit guiding you into your destiny. If you’ve felt like life is passing you by, may the Lord rekindle a deep and marvelous passion within your soul, igniting the fire to do the very thing He has called you to do.

Life is short. Time is fleeting. But a life lived for the Lord is a life well lived. 

May we strive for the day when we hear our Savior say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
